7-SEGMENT CLOCK / ESP32 APPLICATION
HU 058 Wi Fi Clock
HU-058 RGB 7-segment clock kit converted to ESPHome on an ESP32-C3 Super Mini, for Home Assistant. World Clock with per-clock time zones.

About this project
About this project
An off-the-shelf RGB seven-segment clock kit gets a second life as a Home Assistant display once an ESP32-C3 Super Mini and a USB-C panel socket are swapped in. ESPHome runs it through a custom external component for the AiP33628 LED drivers. Every panel, digit or single LED can take its own colour, gradients included, and colour-cycle and flash effects keep running on the device even if Wi-Fi drops; the top colon dot going dark is the Wi-Fi warning. Home Assistant can also pick a city per clock for world time with DST, cycle a temperature sensor or the date between the time, and push up to four characters through esphome.wifi_clock_show_text, with the display returning to the time by itself. Only characters the segments can form exist: K M V W X Z show blank, and the font falls back to the other case rather than refusing a letter.
