Round Compass
A round knob screen turned into a clear sailing compass.

About this project
About this project
At the helm of a boat, a 480×480 round IPS panel with a rotary knob stands in for a stack of marine gauges. It measures nothing itself: five separate gateway boards push heading, pitch and roll, GNSS position and ground speed, temperature, pressure and humidity, house and starter battery data, exhaust temperature and tank levels to it over ESP-NOW, and depth arrives relayed from NMEA2000. Turning the knob pages through compass, attitude, weather, battery, engine, celestial and brightness screens; the celestial page works out Hc and Zn for the sun, moon and a twilight star set as sextant practice. Touch is not implemented. Built in Arduino IDE with LVGL 9.5.0, and the parts list also asks for a router locked to channel 6.
