About this project
About this project
The device is deliberately dumb: it fetches a 48,000-byte 1-bit image over HTTP, pushes it to the panel, caches it in flash and deep-sleeps. A host machine does all the layout with Pillow and serves /dashboard.bin on port 8124, answering 304 when nothing changed, so a UI tweak never means reflashing. Hardware is a Seeed reTerminal E1001 — 7.5-inch monochrome e-paper at 800×480 on an ESP32-S3 N8R8 with Octal PSRAM, needing the SPIRAM_OCT MicroPython build. The single working demo shows a mobile base vehicle's current city, day counter and clock. Deep sleep plus e-paper retention means months of battery with a five-minute refresh. There is no OTA by design. If the host is down, the last cached image stays up.
