PROJECT / ESP32 APPLICATION
E-paper Sonos Spotify
Affiche le morceau Spotify joué sur vos enceintes Sonos sur un ePaper couleur 7,3" (reTerminal E1002 / ESP32-S3) — 100% local, sans cloud
About this project
What is playing on the Sonos, shown on a 7,3-inch six-colour e-paper panel, with nothing leaving the house. The Seeed reTerminal E1002 talks to the speakers' local UPnP API directly — no Spotify developer account, no cloud, no Sonos online API — pulls the album cover from the speaker and dithers it for the Spectra 6 panel, alongside title, artist, album, zone and track length. Three physical buttons do previous, next and play/pause. When nothing plays it shows weather from Home Assistant over MQTT, and the case measures indoor temperature and humidity itself for comparison. Average draw is 0,050 W asleep against 0,31 W awake, about six days idle and twenty-four hours of continuous playback. A full refresh takes a measured 37 seconds and there is no partial colour refresh, which is why it prints the track length instead of a progress bar.
