MMWAVE RADAR / ESP32 APPLICATION
Lynceus Radar
Real-time 24GHz mmWave multi-target radar on ESP32-S3 with dual-core FreeRTOS, HLK-LD2450 UART decoding and double-buffered ST7789 IPS display.

About this project
About this project
A 24 GHz HLK-LD2450 radar and an ST7789 320x240 IPS screen on an ESP32-S3, boxed as a desktop watch station. Core 0 owns the radar's UART and the kinematic filters; Core 1 draws at about 35 FPS over 40 MHz SPI into a GFXcanvas16 that is pushed whole, so the picture does not flicker. Filters matter more than the drawing: a multi-frame anti-ghost check throws out wall reflections outside the useful cone, and a deadband freezes a standing person onto an anchor instead of jittering. Each target gets a direction arrow and a fading trail, and a NeoPixel shifts from red under 1 m through orange, yellow, blue and up to white past 5 m. The serial console switches accuracy mode, anti-reflection filter, multi or single target, zoom between 3 m and 6 m, and can reset the sensor to factory settings. Parts run about 30–35 €.
