BED REMOTE / ESP32 APPLICATION
Sleep Number Remote
Touchscreen Sleep Number bed remote for the ESP32 Cheap Yellow Display, over local Bluetooth

About this project
About this project
Five screens replace the phone app for a Sleep Number bed with a Fuzion base: pose presets for either sleeper or both, firmness per side, head and foot sliders with a light and a stop, pairing and settings, and a diagnostics page. The board is an ESP32-2432S028R Cheap Yellow Display, with a 2.8-inch 320x240 ILI9341 panel and XPT2046 resistive touch, in a screwless 3D-printed case. It talks to the bed directly over Bluetooth with no account, cloud or Wi-Fi, sending bamkey text commands framed as fUzIoN plus length plus CRC32, after bonding gives it a session id. The screen dims after 30 s and then turns off and drops Bluetooth so the SleepIQ app on a phone can connect. Older i8 and 360 beds on the MCR protocol are not supported; some boards ship with an ST7789 panel instead and need a driver change.
