DEW POINT PANEL / ESP32 APPLICATION
Dew Point Fan
A small touch panel that compares indoor and outdoor dew points.

About this project
About this project
Two Bluetooth-LE ThermoBeacon sensors, one indoors and one out, feed this ESP32-2432S028R Cheap Yellow Display, which computes a dew point for each and runs a fan only while the outside air is drier. Switching is not wired: it goes over Wi-Fi to a Shelly Plug M Gen3 through a single HTTP RPC GET, so nothing is attached to the board's GPIO. A nine-step priority tree decides, from manual override through missing or five-minute-old readings, minimum inside and outside temperatures and minimum indoor humidity, down to the dew-point difference, where a hysteresis band holds the previous state instead of flickering. The screen is a 2.8-inch ILI9341 with an XPT2046 touch on a separate SPI bus. The board has no PSRAM, and the Shelly must be given by IP, because the firmware's HTTPClient has no mDNS resolver.
From the README
From the README
- Dependency
- The fan is plugged into a Shelly Plug M Gen3 on the same WiFi network as the CYD.
- Limit
- this firmware's HTTPClient has no mDNS resolver
- Power
- The base CYD has no PSRAM — RAM is tight.
