WEATHER STATION / ESP32 APPLICATION
Feather Weather
esp32 feather wing based weather station

About this project
About this project
Four Adafruit Feather boards stack into this weather station: an ESP32 Feather V2 as the controller, an Adalogger for the PCF8523 clock and microSD, an Ultimate GPS wing, and a 128×64 OLED with three navigation buttons. I2C sensors cover pressure (BMP390), temperature and humidity (SHTC3), particulates (HM3301) and rainfall (SEN0575); wind direction, wind speed and illuminance share one RS485 bus through a DFR0845 adapter. The code is CircuitPython, so the board needs 10.3.0 or newer — 10.3.1 is what was tested — and the microphone depends on audioi2sin. Poetry handles the host side: circup-install pushes libraries from the cached bundle, and deploy runs pytest before uploading over Web Workflow. There is no CIRCUITPY drive, so serial is the only recovery path. Feed the RS485 adapter from the USB pin, not 3V, or the LDO browns out.
From the README
From the README
- Display
- SH1107 display + 3 nav buttons
- Firmware
- Use current stable, >= 10.3.0 (the I2S mic needs audioi2sin, added in 10.3.0). Tested on 10.3.1.
- Build
- reads every adafruit-circuitpython-* dependency from pyproject.toml
- Limit
- The Feather ESP32 V2 does not expose a CIRCUITPY drive
- Power
- Power the DFR0845 from the USB pin (5V VBUS), not 3V.
