About this project
One BLE macropad firmware serves several ESP32 variants, and the Bluetooth name, button count, GPIO numbers and press timing are settings kept in NVS rather than compiled in. Envs cover ESP32-C3, ESP32-S3 and plain ESP32, up to four buttons wired from GPIO to GND with internal pull-ups, no external resistors. The finished Ti Clicker is an ESP32-C3 Super Mini in a 3D-printed shell with three keys used as a slide remote. A PySide6 desktop app on Windows pairs over USB serial or BLE GATT, writes the profile to flash and can flash firmware itself after checking SHA-256. Macros fall in two groups: shortcuts the board types on its own through Bluetooth HID, and actions such as opening apps or pasting text that need the app running. A plain ESP32-S2 is rejected — no Bluetooth.
