About this project

About this project

A tiny Unix-flavoured shell for the ESP32-S3, with ls, cd, cat, touch and echo, plus a fastfetch that reports uptime, free RAM and SD size; the terminal is the entire interface. It is built on a dual-bus layout, keeping the display and the SD card on separate, isolated SPI buses so they do not fight over pins, and the display driver is non-blocking so console I/O does not stall the system. The one optimised board is the ESP32-S3-N16R8; the SD card has to be FAT32 with the physical lock switch off. Other boards differ enough that porting means writing a new hardware Markdown document rather than editing a few defines. Beyond the shell commands in the preview there is no GUI and no app layer.
