DESK PIXEL PANEL / ESP32 APPLICATION
Pixelbar
An 8x24 WS2812B desk panel on an ESP32-C3: status, focus timer, clock and ambient scenes, with a setup portal and a web UI. An open Busy Bar alternative.

About this project
About this project
Three 65 mm 8×8 WS2812B boards butted together make a 8×24 desk panel behind a diffuser, driven by an ESP32-C3 SuperMini and built as an open alternative to a Busy Bar. It shows status words to the room, runs a focus timer, keeps time, and takes input from an EC11 encoder, three TTP223 touch zones and a phone web page. Firmware is ESP-IDF v5.3 or newer with no managed components, so it builds offline; 192 LEDs are driven over SPI with GDMA rather than RMT, and measured at 100 fps. With no credentials stored it opens its own setup network and captive portal, and credentials are only saved once they have worked. Everything is one versioned struct in a single NVS blob. The render path caps current at a budget the caller passes, since 192 LEDs at full white would draw about 11 A.
