VIRTUAL PET GAME / ESP32 APPLICATION
Mythkit
Virtual-pet game for the ESP32 touch-screen board: hatch, care for and evolve a cat-inspired mythical creature.

About this project
About this project
A virtual-pet game for kids of 8 and up on the ELEGOO E32R28T board — an ESP32 with a 240x320 ILI9341 display and resistive touch. You hatch an egg, keep a cat-like mythical creature fed, clean, rested and well, and it grows through branching forms defined in data-only species packs. There are touch mini-games and turn-based games that can also be played remotely, because the board runs an MCP server: an MCP client can read the pet's stats and care for it over the home network. Deep sleep pauses the pet and catches up when power returns. Wi-Fi is optional and only used to set the clock over NTP through a hotspot page, and a microSD card is optional too, for extra species packs and firmware updates. Everything builds in a Docker image of ESP-IDF v6.0.1 through mk.sh, with host tests that need no board.
