About this project
About this project
A Flair 58 lever espresso machine gets a small ESP32-C3 that presses the existing button through a MOSFET and reads the three status LEDs on ADC pins, so Home Assistant can choose LOW, MEDIUM or HIGH and see whether the machine is off, heating or ready. The original Flair firmware keeps control of the heater and the NTC sensor; the NTC is deliberately left untapped because probing it disturbed the machine's own temperature reading. Pairs optionally with a Fellow Stagg EKG Pro kettle over its local HTTP CLI, which only exists on older kettle firmware — 1.2.24 and later mute it. Written in ESPHome, with a 45-minute safety shutoff that works without Home Assistant. Verified on one machine, board HL-01-V2.2.
