About this project

About this project

A 1.8-inch ST7735S TFT on an ESP32 38-pin devkit shows the time, Gregorian and Hijri dates, a large countdown to the next prayer, and a slideshow of more than sixty adhkar and du'a pages. Prayer times come from the Aladhan API with a local calculation fallback when there is no internet. One TTP223 touch sensor does all navigation: a tap advances from home to prayer times, adhkar and the QR screen, holds of roughly one and two seconds page through adhkar, and six seconds on the QR screen factory-resets. Pairing is by QR code, which joins the phone to the AdhanClock access point and opens the settings page at the board hotspot address. Arabic is not rendered by a font engine but pre-generated as compressed anti-aliased bitmaps from the Amiri font, rebuilt with a Python script. Arduino IDE with esp32 core 2.0.17 and the Huge APP partition scheme builds it.
