ROON NOW-PLAYING DISPLAY / ESP32 APPLICATION
Roon Inkplate
Roon now-playing album art on an Inkplate 6PLUS e-paper display, with touch controls

About this project
About this project
Whatever Roon is playing gets printed on e-paper: a Node.js bridge renders the cover into a 1024×758 frame, dithers it to the panel's 8 grey levels and serves the finished 388 KB image, which the Inkplate 6PLUS polls every 2 s and skips with a 304 when nothing changed. Layout, font, volume ceiling and frontlight are tuned on the bridge, so the board rarely needs reflashing. Touches split by area: tap the art to pause, swipe sideways for tracks, swipe up or down for volume; the text strip toggles and dims the frontlight. The bridge runs in Docker or plain Node, light enough for a Raspberry Pi, and the board side is an Arduino IDE sketch.
