MACOS FAMILY DASHBOARD / ESP32 APPLICATION
E-paper Maclink
A native macOS family dashboard for e-paper: Apple Calendar, Reminders, and Home Assistant sensors.

About this project
About this project
The family agenda, rendered on a Seeed XIAO ESP32-C3 with a 7.5-inch monochrome 800×480 panel, but almost none of the work happens on the display. A native SwiftUI Mac app pulls Apple Calendar and Reminders through EventKit plus optional Home Assistant sensors, composes the page with TRMNL pixel fonts, and uploads a PNG to a FastAPI server that keeps the last image in SQLite; the display wakes and fetches only when the frame changed. Two columns hold as many complete days as fit, with a lookahead of up to 31 days, and the footer takes up to four HA sensor readings with small Markdown. Each display gets its own check interval and daily update window. The catch is stated plainly: new content and date changes need the Mac awake and the app running. macOS 14 or later and a Swift 6 toolchain are required, and the firmware is GPLv3 because it builds on OpenDisplay.
