E-PAPER WORD OF THE DAY / ESP32 APPLICATION
Chroma WOTD
ChromaWOTD - a 4-colour (BWRY) ePaper verse, word-of-the-day & weather display on XIAO ESP32-S3

About this project
About this project
A 2.9-inch four-colour ePaper panel carries the whole idea: black, white, red and yellow, 128×296 pixels, wired to a Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32-S3 through the EE05 display board. The JD79661 controller offers no partial refresh, so each update is a full pigment sweep of roughly 25 seconds; the device therefore wakes at exactly 06:00, 12:30 and 18:00, paints once and drops back into deep sleep. Until 16:30 it prints a BibleGateway verse of the day, afterwards a word from A.Word.A.Day with its respelling in the header band. Open-Meteo supplies the footer weather, and a failed fetch falls back to bundled text behind a red OFFLINE banner. Any of three active-low buttons wakes it for an extra refresh, and a ten-second hold erases the stored Wi-Fi settings.
