About this project
About this project
Live departure times for Kraków's MPK on a 4.2-inch 400x300 e-paper panel wired to an ordinary ESP32. The Waveshare e-paper library, made for Raspberry Pi and Jetson, was ported down to ESP-IDF and split into components for the panel, HTTP and JSON, NTP and Wi-Fi; a finite state machine recovers from errors and an MVC split keeps layout away from data. Wi-Fi is provisioned from the ESP SoftAP Provisioning phone app after reading a PIN off the screen, and a button held at boot wipes NVS. It was written as a university project, and the build instructions ask for a large single-app partition and for skipping TLS certificate verification against the MPK API, marked as testing only.
