DESKTOP LED MATRIX / ESP32 APPLICATION
P64 LED Matrix
Desktop LED matrix built on ESP32-S3

About this project
About this project
Sixty-four by sixty-four RGB LEDs in a wedge-shaped printed shell, fed over USB-C and driven from a browser. It plays GIF, PNG or APNG, WebP and BMP with transparency, pulls artwork from Makapix Club (the Promoted channel needs no account, pairing unlocks the rest), overlays a clock or weather, air quality, UV and board temperature, and accepts live DDP or raw p64 UDP pixels from a computer, including screen capture through a bundled sender. Quality mode uses 11 bit planes at about 264 Hz; Photo mode raises that to roughly 814 Hz for cameras. Clocks need NTP after every boot, and demanding animations slow down rather than skip frames. An ESP32-S3 controller, panel and supply come from Waveshare, the shell is ordered from JLC3DP in black PLA, and firmware goes on from a web flasher or one esptool command, with no ESP-IDF needed. A p64a cost about US$119 delivered.
