COLOUR METER / ESP32 APPLICATION
Pocket RGB Meter
A pocket screen for light balance, colour and room measurements.

About this project
About this project
A light meter for comparing sources rather than for absolute numbers. A Vishay VEML6040 on I2C reads white, red, green and blue as raw 16-bit counts, five times a second, and a 128x64 SSD1306 shows them; button 2 stores the current reading as a reference, after which each channel is shown as a signed difference such as W -44 or G +11. A Bosch BME68x adds temperature, humidity and pressure on a second screen. The values are raw sensor counts, not calibrated photometric units: the filters do not follow the CIE curves, so the readings suit relative work only. It is written in C++14 on ESP-IDF 5.5, with the application split from drivers by small interfaces. On an ESP32-S3 Super Mini with a Li-ion cell it runs from battery, flashes the RGB LED every 10 seconds, and sleeps after 10 minutes idle. The reference is RAM-only and is lost on deep sleep.
