ROTATING WIDGET DASHBOARD / ESP32 APPLICATION
E-paper Remoment
Home Assistant dashboard for a 7.5" black/white/red e-paper panel on an ESP32, with rotating widgets

About this project
About this project
A Home Assistant dashboard for a 7.5" black/white/red e-paper panel: a fixed header with date and weather, and below it two slots that rotate through widgets picked by time of day and by whether they actually have something to say. A calendar widget only appears when a meeting starts within 15 minutes, the rain widget only when Buienradar expects rain in the next two hours, solar only while producing. Outside dashboard hours, and on days off, the panel stops talking to Home Assistant and shows a public-domain painting, dithered to black/white/red — Hokusai, Vermeer, Van Gogh and others among 9 works kept in their own flash partition. Hardware is a Good Display DEPG0750RWU790F30HP panel on a Waveshare e-Paper ESP32 Driver Board; the settings page runs at epaper-dashboard.local, and each widget costs one HA template request.
