About this project
A German-language weather station for the Sunton ESP32-8048S043, an ESP32-S3 board with an 800×480 capacitive-touch display. Pages cover a summary with an animated weather symbol, rain for the next two hours, 24 hours and 6 days; the DWD rain radar with one hour of the past and two of forecast; official DWD severe-weather warnings; sun arc, moon phase, UV, air quality and a garden water balance; DWD pollen and bioweather; and a best-time-outdoors page. Data comes from Open-Meteo and the Deutscher Wetterdienst over Wi-Fi and needs no API key. Setup is a QR code on the display for the Wetteranzeige hotspot, after which settings live at wetteranzeige.local with user admin and a PIN shown by pressing the screen for 2 seconds. Firmware is PlatformIO, built with LovyanGFX; the first build takes 10 to 20 minutes.
