E-READER FONT BUILDER / ESP32 APPLICATION
CrossGlyph
Build fonts for Xteink e-readers running CrossPoint, and tune them with live preview

About this project
About this project
Not a board but the tool you run before a board sees the font: CrossGlyph converts TTF and OTF files into the .cpfont bitmap format used by CrossPoint e-readers and compatible forks, then writes them to a folder you copy onto the reader's SD card. Because each point size stores a separate picture of every glyph in four grey levels, type built for print often lands too light, too dark or too tight, so the Tune panel exposes darkness, stroke weight, hinting, line height, letter and word spacing, kerning and ligatures, with a preview drawn by CrossPoint's own renderer. Export builds regular, bold, italic and bold italic at chosen sizes, can carry variable-font weights, add fallback faces for missing scripts, and pre-join Arabic forms. It runs on macOS, Linux or Windows as a local browser app.
