Self-hosted ESP32-S3 smart doorbell with a custom PCB, Raspberry Pi gateway, and web dashboard

About this project
About this project
In a block of flats with no concierge, a press of this self-built board wakes it to grab a QXGA still, then powers the camera down and ships the image over Wi-Fi to a Raspberry Pi gateway. The Spring Boot gateway puts media in MinIO and events in PostgreSQL, a Next.js dashboard shows sessions, and phones get ntfy alerts; an optional Home Assistant webhook makes smart speakers chime indoors as well. Voice replies are turn-based, stored and played back rather than a live call. Battery wake, capture, upload and deep sleep have all run, but runtime and closed-case current remain unmeasured, so it is a working prototype.
