LORA WEATHER STATION / ESP32 APPLICATION
LoRa Weather Station
my weather station with ESP32 and LoRa

About this project
About this project
An outdoor mast holds the sensors and a 2 W solar panel; indoors a receiver with a 2004 LCD shows the readings and serves a small page at weather-station.local. Both ends are Heltec WiFi LoRa 32 V3 boards — ESP32-S3 with an SX1262 modem and a 0.96-inch OLED. Temperature and pressure come from a BME280 (plus or minus 0.5 °C), humidity from an added SHT31-D (plus or minus 2 %), wind from a cup anemometer and 16-point vane, and rain from a tipping bucket that is described as highly accurate, though the mast must be solidly anchored against vibration. A DFRobot MPPT controller charges a 3000 mAh LiPo. Overcast days have not yet drained it. Firmware is built in the Arduino framework with PlatformIO, RadioLib and ESPAsyncWebServer.

- Sensors
- Relative Humidity - +/-2% (SHT31-D)
- Limit
- The mounting is susceptible to vibration, so the mast needs to be solidly anchored.
- Build
- PlatformIO IDE based on VS Code
