About this project

About this project

Two ESP32 DOIT DevKit V1 boards, one inside the outdoor unit and one on an indoor wall, replace a heat pump's control board and talk over ESP-NOW without a router. The outdoor half reads four NTC sensors, drives four relays for compressor, fan, four-way valve and pump, and runs startup, shutdown, defrost and protection logic by itself; status goes out every 500 ms. The indoor half carries a 128×64 ST7567 LCD, five buttons, a menu of parameters up to U81, WiFiManager, MQTT discovery for Home Assistant and the master copy of settings. Both build as separate PlatformIO environments. The relay side switches live 230 V loads, and the warning is explicit: only a licensed electrician should install it.
